Tatton Park Visit
On Tuesday Class 3 and Class 4 spent the day at Tatton Park to find out more about the Egerton family and our local history.
All of the children were extremely well behaved and the Guides frequently commented on how knowledgeable and respectful our children were.
The children spent half of the day exploring the park lands – on the back of a trailer (pulled by a tractor). They learnt about how much land the Egerton’s once owned, how and why the land had been landscaped and visited some of the older buildings around the park. They also learnt a lot about the deer in the park; and got to stand very close to them!
The other half of the day was spent in The Mansion, learning about its architecture and design, how the house was furnished, how it has changed over the years, and spent time looking at the artefacts related to Maurice Egerton.
