Author Jane Dickman visits to talk about vikings

On Tuesday, Classes 3 and 4 were visited by Jane Dickman – the author of the children’s book Bjarki The Viking.
As well as reading some of her book and talking to the children about how and why she wrote this book, she also shared some of her knowledge about The Vikings, using photographs from her many trips to Scandinavia (particularly Sweden).
Although some children brought money to buy a copy of the book, a lot more children wanted to buy a copy after hearing some of the story.  As the book is published by a small company on The Wirral it is not easy to purchase a copy locally. Therefore, Jane has agreed to bring more copies of her book (which will be signed) when she next passes this way in two weeks time.
Any child who would like a copy needs to bring £4.95 in an envelope marked “Bjarki The Viking” before Thursday, 24th May. The books should be delivered the follwing week.
