Funding Challenge to all schools

Facing up to the cuts and coming up with solutions.

The government have introduced a new funding formula for schools this year. We were aware that we faced some cuts, as with all public services in times of national economic stringency, however the scale of the cuts is quite breathtaking. Primary and Secondary schools in Cheshire East have been particularly badly hit, especially by national funding reductions for children with additional needs. Despite the devastating effects of these cuts on our budget the Governors and I intend to do everything we can to protect our inclusive provision particularly for the most vulnerable members of our learning community.

The government have yet to publish how they intend to fund schools in the 2014-15 financial year. Cheshire East Headteachers have been lobbying MPs regarding these changes to enable them to appreciate the impact upon school budgets and their ability to continue to provide a high quality education.
