Friday, 28th September 2012 is The Dahlicious Dressing Up Day!
On Friday, 28th September EVERYONE in our school will be invited to dress up as their favourite Roald Dahl character to raise money for Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity, which continues Roald Dahl's legacy of helping seriously ill and disabled children by providing specialist nurses, equipment, carers and toys to help make life that little bit better.
You can find out more about their work by visiting www.roalddahlcharity.org
Your child may already have a favourite character - whether it's an Oompa Loompa, Fantastic Mr Fox, a Twit, the Big Friendly Giant or Miss Trunchball!
However, if you and your child may struggle to pick a favourite character from one of Roald Dahl's many books, why don't you spend some time over the summer reading, and sharing, some of his stories and choosing a character to dress up as when September comes around? You may even wish to start using your creativity and enthusiasm to start putting your costume together!
In addition to having lots of fun and excitement, the children will also learn about Roald Dahl's life and be able to help children less fortunate than themselves (by bringing in a donation of £1).
We hope, by giving you plenty of time to think about what your child can wear, ALL the children will take part and enjoy what will be an enjoyable, interesting and spectacular day! Please add this date to your diary!
I look forward to welcoming the rest of you and the new Reception children and their families back on Wednesday 5 September.
