Working in Partnership Meeting

At the beginning of this academic year we introduced a ‘Working in Partnership’ meeting in the first week of the year.

This gave the opportunity for parents to meet their child’s class teacher and learn about the routines of their day and the approach to learning as well as the theme for that term and arrangements for homework.

This was extremely successful and we had very positive feedback from parents regarding this. We intend to do this again on Wednesday 14 September. There will be two consecutive sessions to allow parents with two children to attend both classes. The times are:

6.30pm – 7.00pm

7.00pm – 7.30pm

More information will be given out with the first newsletter in September.

This will be the final newsletter for 2011/12. It has flown by! We have had yet another successful and busy year. The children have been amazing! Their enthusiasm for learning is endless! Every child can be very proud of their individual achievements.

The staff and I would like to sincerely thank you for your fantastic support. By working together we achieve a great deal for your children.

I would like to wish you all a very restful summer. Let’s hope we get some prolonged periods of sunshine! The Year 6 children will be moving on to their High Schools. This will be an important step for them.

This particular class started at Egerton at the same time as me so it has been a real privilege to watch them grow and mature over the past seven years. I wish them well and urge them to keep in touch as ‘once an Egerton pupil, always an Egerton pupil!’

I would like to thank the Year 6 parents for the very kind donation given to the school to buy bird and bat boxes to create ‘The Diamond Jubilee Wildlife Corner’ at the top of the school field connecting on from our new path this year.
