Arrangements for September

I would like to thank all those parents who have been lobbying hard regarding the delay to the modular building arriving on site.

This strong support for the school is greatly appreciated. It is an ‘exceptional situation’ that has presented a great deal of challenge to the school. Whatever the outcome the staff and Governors will continue to prioritise the welfare and education of the children. Plan B went into operation on ‘Move Up Day’ and went very smoothly. The children have been very well supported by the staff and this will continue until we break for the summer. Time spent with their new teachers in their new classroom and walking through the routines of the day are just some practical aspects of the work done around transition.

Classes 5 and 6 will remain in their current positions before moving into the temporary classroom when it arrives in October and Class 4 will be in the ICT Suite. This room is being temporarily remodelled at a cost to the Local Authority – removing the dividing benching separating the computers from the library to create more space and installing an interactive

whiteboard.  Those five PCs will be relocated. The library will continue to be used, as will the ICT suite when Class 4 are at swimming, have PE and are outdoors or in the hall for a lesson. Lap tops are used throughout the school too.

In October Class 4 will move into what is now Class 5. The current Class 6 will become a resource room which will be multi-purpose for small group work, music tuition, meetings etc.
