The Olympic Torch visits Knutsford!

I am delighted to inform you that we now have enough adults to walk with the children down to Toft Road to watch the Olympic Torch go by.

Egerton has been assigned a cordoned off area next to the police station. Parents who have volunteered to help need to return to school at 9.45am for a briefing led by Mrs Hooper.

The schools in Knutsford have been asked that one child from each year group take part in a photograph to be taken at Tatton with the Olympic Torch bearers. There has also been a request for just two children from each school to be with the civic party in front of the court house.

These children would not be with the rest of the school when the torch goes by. Therefore, I have asked the children in assembly this morning to think about whether they would like to be put forward for this. Many may wish to stay with their friends. I have asked the children to return on Monday with their answer. Names will be drawn ‘out of the hat’ for those children who wish to be put forward for this opportunity.
