World Book Day - Fancy Dress & Sponsored Book Read!!

Sponsored Book Read to raise money money for the School Library.

As you may know, Thursday 7th March is World Book Day and this year we have decided to do something a little different. The PTA would love to re vamp the school library now that the ICT Suite is now no longer being used as a permanent classroom.  Our aim is to fill it with new and exciting books for all of the children to enjoy!

This is where you can help......

We are going to hold a sponsored book read over the February half term period. Please ask your friends and family members to sponsor your child to read by asking them to write their name and the amount that they are willing to sponsor them on the attached form.  When your child has read a book, sign and date the box at the top of the form, recording the book's title... and then move onto reading another book.

This is not a competition!  It is something to be enjoyed!  At Egerton we promote a love of reading and encourage all of our children to develop this life skill in a fun and enjoyable manner.  So please help us to further their interest in books, by taking up The Reading Challenge this half term.

All sponsor money should be handed into school, along with the sponsor form, by Thursday,             7th March. (World Book Day).

As in previous years, the children will be invited to come dressed as one of their favourite book characters and bring a book that they love reading to share. We are hopeful that the children will each take home a Book Voucher on World Book Day too – which can be exchanged for one of a small selection of specially commissioned books, or for £1 off a book of their choice.
